Welcome to the start of the 2015 school year. I trust that you have all had a relaxing break and that you have been able to enjoy the good weather that everyone has been enjoying. This year promises to be another rewarding year for the school. 2014 was certainly a busy year, however upon reflection we accomplished a great deal and everyone can feel proud of the effort they out in.
As we start the year it is timely just to remind people of some key points.
If your child is absent from school for any reason please let the office know. We are audited by the Ministry for all children on our roll so we must account for all absences. We are unable to take the word of siblings in regards as to where children are and do need to have an adult provide the information. The answer phone is always on if you need to leave a message.
As the warm weather continues it is timely to remind all Patoka students that hats must be worn for the first term.
We will have the school dental van up at school for the first two weeks of the first term. They will run their normal programme and will call the children out of class.
March 2nd is a teacher Only Day. The teachers will be viewing some other schools looking at the ICT and Modern Learning Environments they are running. More information to come.
Finally, we are planning for a community picnic to be held at school on Thursday 12th February after school. Further information will be available in the coming weeks.
Term dates for 2015:
Term 1 Monday 2 Feb to Thursday 2 April
Term 2 Monday 20 April to Friday 3 July
Term 3 Monday 20 July to Friday 25 September
Term 4 Monday 12 October to Thursday 17th December
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone all the very best for the coming year. If you are ever driving by and have 10 minutes to spare, do pop in and have a look around or even just to have an informal chat.
