A very big welcome to you all for the start of term 3. We ended term 2 with an absolute bang with so many of our students looking simply superb in their costumes for the school disco. It was a treat seeing you all dancing the night away. Thank you for your enthusiasm.
This term promises top produce some more memories and some amazing learning opportunities. We have the whole school production which will be a lot of hard work and fun. We are planning to present this in the last week of the term. The show is the Pied Piper and provides all of our children with the opportunity to be on stage.
We have the school cross country which is being run at the Puketitiri Domain on August 29th. If it is any thing like last year, it will be hotly contested by all of our students.
It is hoped that within the next month we will have 9 new iPads on site for our students to use. These have been partially funded by community grants which we are very grateful to have received. As well as this we have also purchased a new data projector which our seniors will be using to run their assemblies on a Friday. (These assemblies are now going to be run from 12:00 to 12:30) The final addition to our ICT for this year involves reintroducing some technology we already have. The staff participated in some PD during the holidays to help them better understand how to use the Interactive whiteboards and the Mobi Viewers. We are all looking forward to using this technology in our rooms.
Our seniors will begin the school band again this term. This was a popular addition to the school last year and provides an ideal vehicle for our students to showcase their musical talent. Our students will be practicing on Fridays from 1:30 to 2:30. A very big thanks to Lisa and Tim for their assistance as parents.
The wonderful members of our P and F group are planning the main fundraiser for this year. They are holding a Fun Run on the 21st September. This will be a great day out so please spread the news.
The events that I have mentioned so far are just a few that will be happening this term. I will continue to keep you informed as the term progresses.
